Coastal Californian Thrills: Venice to the Hills and Back
Rideaway's official LA based Biker Guide is available for the quintessential Pacific Coastal Highway Day Trip taking you to all the hidden gems. Select either Saturday/Sunday and any available time. We all meet at 8am and end at 6pm as a group, regardless of which time you select. If no time is available, it is sold out. It is 150 USD/person for the entire day and not per hour.

What is included
Guided tour by an experienced rider well known in the biker community. Coffee at start with a safety briefing to ensure all riders know what they are undertaking and how to ride safely together as a unit. Detailed route map. Lunch at Neptune’s Net or alternative (cost not included in the tour price). Photos/videos, swim stops. Beer upon return.
Itinerary
8:00 AM - 8:30 AM: Meet at Deus Cafe, Venice Beach Kickoff the day at Deus Cafe in Venice with a freshly brewed coffee. While you sip, our tour leader will conduct a quick safety briefing and go over the day’s route, ensuring everyone is prepped for an epic ride. 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Ride North on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) Route: Depart from Venice Beach and head north on the iconic PCH. Enjoy the breathtaking coastal views as you cruise through Malibu’s scenic stretches. Photo Opportunity: Pull over at El Matador State Beach for a quick photo op with the dramatic sea stacks and cliffs as your backdrop. 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM: Hidden Off-Road Gem – Latigo Canyon Adventure Time: Veer off the PCH into Latigo Canyon Road, a lesser-known route offering a mix of twisty roads and off-road sections. Climb through the canyon’s rugged terrain, surrounded by the beauty of Southern California’s chaparral. Stop for Photos: Capture the panoramic views from a hilltop lookout, perfect for a group photo with your bikes and the canyon spread out behind you. 10:45 AM - 12:00 PM: Back to PCH & Lunch Stop at Neptune’s Net Route: Descend back to the PCH and cruise to Neptune’s Net, a classic biker-friendly seafood joint. Lunch: Enjoy a laid-back meal with fresh seafood and ocean views. This iconic spot has been a favorite among riders and surfers for decades. 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Off-Road Adventure – Deer Creek Road Thrills Continue: After lunch, head up Deer Creek Road, an off-the-beaten-path route with steep climbs and rugged terrain. The road offers some of the best hidden coastal views in the area, perfect for those seeking a bit of adrenaline. Photo Stop: Pause at the top for breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, with the shimmering blue water stretching to the horizon. 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Cruise to Point Mugu State Park Scenic Ride: Continue north along the PCH to Point Mugu State Park. This stretch of road offers sweeping coastal vistas and a smooth ride. Ocean Swim: Stop at Point Mugu Beach for a refreshing ocean dip. The pristine beach, framed by towering cliffs, is a great spot to cool off and relax. 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Mulholland Highway Adventure Route: After your swim, head south and turn onto Mulholland Highway. This legendary road offers everything from sweeping curves to tight hairpins, with some off-road opportunities along the way. Scenic Stop: Pull over at a high point on Mulholland for another group photo with the mountains and ocean in the background. 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Return to Venice via Topanga Canyon Final Stretch: Start making your way back to Venice via Topanga Canyon Boulevard. This road winds through the Santa Monica Mountains and offers a mix of shady, wooded areas and open views as you descend back towards the coast. Coffee Stop (Optional): If time allows, stop at a local café in Topanga for a quick refreshment before the final leg. 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM: Return to Venice Beach End of Ride: Arrive back in Venice Beach around 6:00 PM. End the day where it began at Deus Cafe, with time to share stories from the ride and grab a final coffee or beer.
