How much will it cost?
There is no cost for adding and maintaining an activity on the platform. You will only be charged a commission fee for accepted bookings. See our Terms and Conditions for more detail.
How and when do I get paid?
Payments taken for a Host experience will be sent from a secure Stripe escrow account to the Host account automatically the day after the experience. For deposits, see below.
Important! Be sure to complete Stripe verification to be able to accept bookings. Go to Account Settings > Payout Details > Add the bank account you want payments to go to > Complete verification in Stripe.
How do Deposits work? (available January 2025)
For calendar listings, Hosts can set a deposit at 20% to 100% of the total ticket price to be paid in advance and the remaining amount to be paid 7 days prior to the listing start date.
Guests are automatically emailed reminders to complete the final payment. The initial deposit is expedited to the Host to help them cover costs and is usually non-refundable. We will monitor how deposits are setup by Hosts and ensure any potential scammers are identified, removed and reported.
Please note that if the guest books an experience within 14 days from the booking start date, the deposit will be calculated as 100% of the total amount and expedited to Host. Whereas if the guest books an experience more than 14 days in advance, the deposit will be calculated based on the percentage set by the host.
What is Rideaway's commission?
Rideaway commissions are currently 10% vs competitors often charging 20%-30%. For now, our platform can easily onboard and pay Hosts in 40 countries. Soon we will integrate a second payment service provider to expand beyond this limitation. Sign up now (or subscribe to our newsletter) and list your business so you can be updated when this occurs.
Pricing Tiers and Tickets (available January 2025)
Hosts can add pricing tiers to their calendar listings so that guests can purchase cheaper or more expensive options outlined in an individual listing. There are also unlimited ticket sales enabled in these tiers. This enables bulk upload of times/dates for one listing to save you time.
How does the Affiliate Income program work? (available January 2025)
When creating a listing, a host simply checks the box to agree to pay 10% sales commission when a sale happens through their profile URL. This is not on top of Rideaway's normal 10% but subtracted from that. Out of that 10%, the Affiliate gets 8% of the total ticket price and Rideaway gets 2%.
A megaphone icon will be displayed on that public listing showing it is available for promotions.
When a host/guest wants to promote any listing, they can simply go to the Discover section, find the experience and click the megaphone icon to add it to their public profile. That listing will be shown in their public profile and privately in "My promoted experiences". Then the user can share their Profile URL to drive internet traffic there and start earning sales commissions. Any user can promote up to 10 experiences using their profile and earn income without actually hosting the trips. Payments will happen at the end of each month.
How to Activate your Affiliate Income Account?
We’ve integrated Partnero so any user is automatically enrolled when they join Rideaway and can earn 8% sales commission promoting other user’s listings.
Follow these steps:
- Go to Account Settings.
- Click on Affiliate Details.
- Reset your Partnero PW before doing anything else, then log in. This will activate your account.
- Now go to Discover and if you see a golden megaphone, just click it once to add it to your Public Profile.
- Go to Profile Settings and click “View Public Profile" to see it under “Recommended."
- Click “Share Profile” to copy your unique URL profile link and then share it with your audience to start making sales and earning commissions.
- If no megaphone is visible on a listing, then the Host did not agree to have other’s promote the listing.
- Edit your own listings to make them available for Affiliate promotions.
- Payments happen at the end of each month.
How to Create a Listing.
- Start Your Listing
Click "List an Experience" in the top-right corner.
- Choose a Listing Type
Hourly Listing: Ideal for experiences sold by the hour. For example, if your 4-hour event costs $30/hour and starts at 7 PM, set the time as 7-8 PM. If you set it as 7-11 PM, guests may see multiple start times or book the entire slot at the hourly rate.
Daily Listing: Perfect for experiences sold by the day. Guests select start and end dates (e.g., same-day bookings count as 1 day; Monday to Tuesday counts as 2 days). Mention specific start times in the description or itinerary.
Ticket Option: For one-off events with no deposit, use this option to sell tickets.
- Set Deposits
No Deposit: Choose this if you want to be paid on the day of the experience.
Deposit Option: Allow guests to pay 20-100% upfront and the remainder 7 days before the event.
- Enable Affiliates
Check the box to let other users promote your listing for a commission.
- Add Location
Enter the starting point for your experience.
- Set Pricing Tiers
We know every experience is unique, so let’s make it flexible for your guests to choose what works best for them!
Single Pricing Tier: If one price fits all, select the "No" option for the “Do you have different pricing tiers?” field and complete the price and quantity details.
Multiple Pricing Tiers: If you want to offer different options (e.g., Basic, Premium, VIP), select the "Yes" option for the “Do you have different pricing tiers?” field.
Provide details for each tier: Tier Title: Give it a catchy name! Tier Description: Highlight what makes it special. Price: Ensure prices are distinct for each tier and above the minimum transaction price. Quantity: Enter the number of spots available for each tier. You can create between 2 and 5 tiers—just enough to offer variety without overwhelming your guests.
- Set Availability
You have to set the availability plan if your listing is the calendar booking listing.
Guests love knowing when your experience is available! Here’s how you can set it up:
General Availability: Start by setting a broad schedule for all tiers—quick and easy! Tier-Specific Availability: Fine-tune your availability for each pricing tier. Your final schedule will reflect these tier-specific settings.
💡 Pro Tip:
All tiers must use the same time zone, so double-check your settings. The availability exceptions will be set via each pricing tiers.
For experiences with limited seats, keep track of how many spots are open for booking:
Update the Quantity Field in your availability plan to reflect seat availability. After making changes, don’t forget to manually save your availability plan to apply updates! For a single price, set one fixed rate.
If you offer different options, create up to 5 pricing tiers with details and available seats/tickets per tier.
