For 8 days you will discover the jungle and bushcraft of the far north of Thailand on the Burmese border, Mike Horn style. In a preserved environment, in the heart of Lahu country, you will live in an enchanting and exotic setting. You will be introduced to survival. You will sleep in a bivouac for 4 nights, in the middle of waterfalls, caves, vines, mosses, rustling, humidity, rice fields, cries of monkeys and amphibians... In short... a superb adventure.

What is included

Itinerary
Day 1 - Day of pick up of participants at Chiang Mai airport or train station and transfer to the hotel in Chiang Mai center. Overnight in Chiang Mai - Breakfast and meals not included. Day 2 - 10:00 am departure for the Burmese border. Dinner and overnight stay in a traditional Thai farm in a bamboo bungalow overlooking a magnificent rice field in the heart of a preserved, calm and joyful village. We will give you your machete which will have been specially forged and made by your trackers. Day 3 - Breakfast - Briefing on the fundamental principles of survival in the forest (what is a survival situation? priorities, dangers, objectives, etc.) - Departure by pick-up for the "survival" trek: crossing Lisou and Lahu villages with their famous architecture, you will see magnificent rice fields in a grandiose setting of mountains and tropical forests. 5-hour walk to climb the crest of a green hill overlooking the surrounding area. Choosing a suitable place to set up camp. Distribution of tasks. Introduction to bushcraft techniques and “setting up a hammock and mosquito net camp” in the wilderness, preparation of a Lahu dinner, making bamboo cutlery and plates, observation of the vegetation, stress management, picking, “local” dinner, to share with the Lahu, etc. Night in a bivouac in a hammock. Not included: - International flights, airport taxes and excess baggage. - Insurance, personal expenses, tips and meals not mentioned. Day 4 - Continuation of the "survival" trek in the forest. 1 to 2 hours of walking will be necessary to reach your second bivouac. 3/4 of the day will be devoted to mastering tools and making objects, furniture with the natural resources present on site. You will have time to spot animal tracks (there are still tigers, red coatis, buffaloes, lorises, squirrels, parakeets ... in this sector), water distillation, making a fire without lighter or matches, searching for food, with the Lahu, etc. You will gradually enter into "autonomy". Night in a hammock bivouac. Day 5 - At dawn you will go to admire the sunrise over the Burmese mountains, the scenery will be worthy of the greatest films. As soon as day breaks, continue the "survival" trek in the forest, with steep slopes, and cross the jungle with a machete to make your way. You will go down the valley to reach a beautiful waterfall where you can bathe and wash yourself. Spotting animal tracks, distilling water, making a fire, searching for food, hunting, setting traps, with the Lahu ... Bivouac on the banks of the river. Evening around the fire, fishing by hand or with a harpoon and setting a trap on the river and night with the Lahu, in complete autonomy with the advice of our specialists. Night in a hammock bivouac. Day 6 - Continuation of the "survival" trek in the forest where you will test all your knowledge in real life! The bivouac will be set up on the site of an ancient Lahu village in the middle of the forest. Independent evening with setting up camp, making fire without lighters, preparing dinner, ... great emotions in perspective! Festive evening around the fire. Night in bivouac in a hammock. Day 7 - Continuation of the "survival" trek to a cave where you will discover an underground river that you can explore. Then return "to civilization". At the exit of the jungle, "pick-ups" will be waiting for you for a return in the early afternoon. Aperitif and party with the whole team. Traditional "Chan" meal served "on the farm". Night in a bamboo bungalow on the edge of a lush rice field surrounded by volcanic mountains. Day 8 - Breakfast - Transit in Chiang Mai - Free evening (meals not included) - Night in Chiang Mai. Possibility of Thai massages, visits to temples, etc. Day 9 - Breakfast and meals not included - Transit to Chiang Mai airport or train station.
